EQinOX-NOEMA research and the EQinOX-NOEMA-bot crawler
If the EQinOX-NOEMA-bot crawler appeared in your server logs, this page explains who operates it, why, how to block it and what happens to the data.
What the research is
EQinOX runs the EQinOX-NOEMA research path. We study how search engine crawlers and artificial intelligence systems read websites and what makes a website understandable to them. As part of the research, our crawler visits publicly available websites. We analyse the results only as aggregated, anonymous summaries.
The research has been running since 30 September 2026.

How the crawler behaves
- Before it visits anything on a website, it reads robots.txt and follows the rules addressed to EQinOX-NOEMA-bot or to all crawlers.
- It fetches only publicly available addresses. It does not log in, does not fill in forms and does not run JavaScript.
- It visits a small part of a website and does not load the server: it sends one request at a time, with a pause between requests.
How to block the crawler
Add this to the robots.txt file on your server:
User-agent: EQinOX-NOEMA-bot
Disallow: /The block applies from the crawler's next visit, because every visit starts with reading robots.txt. You can also write to us and we will exclude your website from the research.
What happens to the data
- We store copies of visited, publicly available pages and of the website's technical files, such as robots.txt and the sitemap.
- Before a copy enters our database, e-mail addresses and phone numbers are replaced with random data of the same format. We do not keep the real addresses and numbers.
- We keep page content for no longer than 90 days; after that it is deleted. Only results without page content remain, such as the page address and check results.
- We do not sell or share the research data. We do not publish the content of visited pages.
Personal data
Copies of pages may contain data of people shown on those pages, for example an e-mail address in the footer.
E-mail addresses and phone numbers are replaced with random data before storage, so our copies do not contain their real values. Names may remain in a copy; copies are deleted after 90 days at the latest. We are preparing the full personal data notice with a lawyer and will publish it on this page. Until then, write to kontakt@eqinox.pl about any personal data matter, including deletion.
